‘Colon-aid’ the Yeovil District Bowel Cancer Support Group
Future Guest Speakers
Rowland had contacted Macmillan to arrange a one day Loss and Bereavement workshop on a Thursday in either February or March 2008 in the Training Room at St Margaret’s Hospice, Yeovil. Liz Martindale has now been given the go ahead for our workshop and Rowland has been trying to arrange mutually convenient dates for Liz and St Margaret’s so far without success. February, March and April have all been ruled out and we are now looking at 1 date in May and 3 in June.
Dietician speaker arrangements are still outstanding.
Organisation
Rowland asked members if they were happy with the current operation of the group and if anyone would like to take on the roles of Events Coordinator or Publicity Officer.
Arrangements for future guest speakers were discussed and views were sought as to whether the group should appoint a member to take on the specific role of organising guest speakers.
Members expressed their satisfaction with existing arrangements so Rowland will continue to do this with support from other members when required.

Raffle/Refreshment Money
Refreshment donations today raised £11 this was passed to St Margaret’s as Gift Aid.
Our thanks to Stan and Hazel for running the raffle and to all members who donated prizes. We raised £20 this will be added to the £66 46p held over from previous raffles making a total of £86 46p held to defray future expenses incurred by group members.

The next meeting will be on Friday 15th February 2008 from 2pm- 4pm at St Margaret’s in Yeovil.
