Rowland reported that the Web Site had been updated to add the minutes of the last meeting and a “Talks” page has been introduced to provide links to the meeting minutes that feature talks by our guest speakers.
Social Meal 16th April at the Sparkford Inn 7.00pm for 7.30pm
Stan and Hazel had obtained copies of the menu for a three course meal costing £12.95 per head. The Sparkford Inn wanted advance notification of what people wanted for their starter and sweet to help the chef in his preparations. Copies of the menu were passed around and Rowland made a list of 12 member’s choices for the three courses. (Post meeting note the number of confirmed bookings is now 19 and I am awaiting replies from 5 more potential attendees. Rowland.)

Rowland was still awaiting Sue Bulley to confirm the date for her update talk on Clinical Trials.
During discussion of topics members would like to be covered it was agreed we should see if we could get someone to cover insurance matters as members had been having difficulty in obtaining cover. Equity Insurance Brokers was mentioned as a possible source. Heather asked if we could also get someone from St Margaret’s to give us a “virtual tour” presentation of their services.
Raffle/Refreshment Money
Refreshment donations today raised £12 this was passed to St Margaret’s as Gift Aid.
Debra and Colin ran a raffle of member donated prizes during the Refreshment Break and this raised £18 to add to our Raffle Fund. With today’s contribution the balance of the fund stands at £65.09.
Cream Tea Event 2008
Colin asked if a date had been set for this year’s event and Rowland advised that Stan and Hazel had confirmed an event would be held and that they had already had many enquiries and expected it to be bigger than last year. This topic will be covered at our April meeting.
