Rowland welcomed members to our 22nd meeting. There were no new members at this meeting.
Matters Arising
April 2008 Bowel Cancer Awareness (BCA) Day 22nd April 2008
The event was very well attended by our group members who helped set up the display stands and organise the raffle. Attendance by the general public was lower than anticipated; however those that did attend enjoyed some very good presentations by consultants and specialists from YDH and Musgrove Park.
A lady who had attended last years event said that following discussions with Maggie last year she saw her GP and went on to have an endoscopy and removal of a polyp. This goes to show how worthwhile these events are and how awareness and early detection can provide very significant benefits.
We received a letter from Maggie Soulsby thanking us for our support and sending us a donation of £40 arising from a proportion of the money raised by the raffle. Rowland has replied to Maggie on behalf of the group thanking her for the donation. The donation has been added to our Raffle Fund that is used to defray expenses incurred in providing services to the group.

Open Forum
During the Open Forum part of the meeting members discussed a number of topics relating to post operation follow up clinics, treatment and scans. These sessions are always interesting as members relate their experiences and we recognise both shared and different experiences in our individual pathways.
