About Us

We are a group of local people with direct experience of living with and coming to terms with bowel cancer either as patients or carers.
The group is patient and carer led with initial support from healthcare professionals and gives people the opportunity to share experiences and to offer support and friendship to others.

Aims
We want to make a difference by offering support to people affected by bowel cancer including patients, carers, relatives and friends.
We want to be able to offer support from diagnosis onwards.

Objectives
We offer support by holding regular meetings where people can come along, meet in a supportive atmosphere and have a chat and a tea or coffee.
We will establish a telephone contact tree to offer support on a one to one basis for those who cannot get to our meetings or require a friendly ear in times of need.
We will encourage healthcare professionals to advise newly diagnosed patients and carers of the existence of our group.

Anyone who has had a diagnosis of colorectal (bowel) cancer or who cares for someone with the disease may join or receive support from the group.
