Matters Arising

Sugars for Life
Rowland had problems accessing the web site following the last meeting, but a package arrived for him which Geoff Clothier had left on Main Reception.  This was discussed a little at the meeting today but it was reported that no-one had heard of this, but had heard of honey being used.

Summer Fayre
Heather Sutton reported that she now has plenty of assistance for the fayre being held on 26 July 2007 however she would still like further plastic packets to hold cakes, biscuits etc.  Also, if anybody would like to bake cakes etc, she would be grateful if these could be delivered to the Colorectal/Stoma Care Department on Wednesday 25 July 2007 and she will collect them from there.

Web site
The updated Colon-Aid leaflets were distributed at the last meeting.  It was confirmed that a few surgeries have this now in their waiting areas.  It was agreed that Corrina would distribute further leaflets to all surgeries via the Internal Mail system at the Hospital.

Blood Groups and Cancer
At the last meeting it was discussed that somebody had been told at a follow up appointment that some blood group types have a higher incidence of cancer.  Maggie Soulsby was asked if she had heard of this and she reported that she hadn’t, but would check into it and report back at the next meeting.  Otherwise, environmental and lifestyle are major factors in cancer.
